Adalah and LAW Petition the Israeli Supreme Court to Stop the Burial of Palestinian Fighters and Civilians in Mass Graves in the Jenin Refugee Camp
This afternoon, Adalah and LAW - The Palestinian Society for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment filed a motion for an injunction and petition to the Israeli Supreme Court seeking to immediately stop the burial of Palestinian fighters and civilians in mass graves in the Jenin refugee camp. In the petition, filed against the Commander of the Israeli Army in the West Bank, Adalah Staff Attorney Jamil Dakwar further demanded that the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society be permitted to enter the camp and to evacuate the dead bodies and bring them to hospital. The petitioners also sought to allow burials to be conducted in a respectful manner by family members of the deceased.

Supreme Court Justice Englard has asked the Attorney General's office to respond within hours to the motion for an injunction and the petition.
Adalah has learned that the Chief Rabbinate of the Military has approved the continuation of burying the dead bodies in the Jenin refugee camp during the Sabbath.
