Families Interrupted

Through a series of anonymous portraits, this exhibition captures the reality of the many thousands of Palestinian families who are forced to live in the shadows by the Israeli Citizenship Law.

Join us at Adalah's opening of a new photo exhibition in Jerusalem, "Families Interrupted",  on the subject of family unification for Palestinians in Israel.

The opening of the exhibition was  held in Dar Issaf Nashashibi on 23 October 2013, hosted by Adalah and the Society of St.Yves. The exhibition remained at the location until 29 October.

The exhibition is now split into two and will be held in both the Al Marsa Center in Sheikh Jarrah, and Marakiya at 4 Koresh St., Jerusalem, from 31 October to 28 November 2013.

Through a series of anonymous portraits, this exhibition captures the reality of the many thousands of Palestinian families who are forced to live in the shadows by the Israeli Citizenship Law.  By lifting the thin veil of anonymity that envelops them, the images give insights into how the ban turns them into families interrupted, struggling to lead a normal life together. By photographing them in their personal spaces, it offers glimpses of their day-to-day human existence as families.
